Importance of Blogging
I was speaking with a director of a local business and the subject of blogging came up. I suggested the business have a blog was quickly shut down. because she felt the business didn’t need a blog. The reason? She didn’t reads blogs. She couldn’t grasp the significance of how a blog could be important to the company.
And this is where I…in my infinite wisdom and somewhat charming sarcasm…decided to school her. Because if you know me, you know I am passionate about blogging.
No longer are blogs just online diaries. Blogging is a source of information and individuals who like to be ‘in the know’ read and research all aspects of social media. They want it quickly and in this technology age, blogging gives them what they want.
Blogging- believe it or not- adds credibility to your business. It is more than just the posting of one’s opinion. It is a sure fire way to connect with your audience by providing useful content that is worthy of being read. By doing this, you are increasing the odds of reaching the right people who need your product.
It is impossible (unless you’re Sylvia Brown or Allison Dubois) to know exactly what each customer wants. By blogging, your readers will interact with you. Blogging allows a platform in which people will comment on your posts allowing you an insight that wouldn’t be there if you didn’t blog. This feedback is invaluable as you can use it to better serve your customers and better your product.
A blog is important to your business. It allows you to network and communicate with a larger range of people in your field. As you get going with your blog, you can begin to be creative in your networking. Having a guest who is highly known post informative posts on your blog increases your traffic which in turn builds your authority.
